Mike O'Donnell
Managing Director
Mike established the business originally named O'Donnell Electrics
in 1975 concentrating initially on the electrical service industry.
In 1977 he completed his first major intruder alarm installation at
Kmart Boronia which began the emergence into the security market.
After 30 years of providing preventative maintenance, store
refurbishments and installing security systems the Coles Group
remains one of Modec's largest clients.
Evolving from O'Donnell Electrics to Modec (Mike O’Donnell
Electrical Contracting) in 1987, Mike began sourcing work
interstate which subsequently increased staff levels while focusing
on a complete electrical, security and data solution. Today, Modec
has over 120 employees throughout Victoria, New South Wales,
Queensland and Tasmania. With the Head Office and warehouse
facility in Coburg, Victoria, a Sydney Branch in Alexandria, New
South Wales, a Queensland branch in Banyo and a Tasmania branch in
Mornington, Modec has the East Coast of Australia
covered.
Mike is driven by a team of willing and enthusiastic employees in a
family and team-orientated environment. Mike's interests are in the
younger generation and the challenge to always improve
and succeed. Mike also has a great interest in Variety the
"Children's Charity" and passing on his knowledge of the business
environment to colleagues in the FMA Group, BIG Group and other
managerial foundations. After assisting in the development of Modec
Sydney, Mike, together with Michelle now concentrate on developing
the business on a national scale.
Joe Magro
National General Manager - Operations
Joe has been with Modec for twenty-one years from the day he began
his apprentice at eighteen years old right to achieving his A Grade
Licence, becoming a foreman, a supervisor and a Project Manager.
Over the journey Joe has been heavily involved in the Electrical
Division and the development of all tradesmen and apprentices in
this field. Joe’s ability to analyse projects and provide accurate
forecasting in all areas of the business has opened up the
opportunity to take on an analytical role. Joe currently works
closely with the estimation team to provide clients with accurate
pricing whilst continuing to grow the business and provide strong
analytic and practical support.
Trevor Gardiner
New South Wales Manager
Over Trevor's fourteen year period at Modec he has completed many
security, electrical, and data projects which have incorporated the
latest technological advancements in integrated access control,
digital CCTV and communications. These projects have included the
use of Category 6 Data Transfer and Fibre Optic Cabling. Trevor
moved from our head office in Melbourne to manage our Sydney branch
over 3 years ago and has already completed many security
installation jobs at Kmart stores and Myer retail outlets. Trevor's
continual drive for perfection while offering clients a complete
quality solution at an affordable price is continuing to be a major
asset for Modec in the Sydney market.
Brenden Bromfield
Tasmania State Manager
Brenden joined Modec in 2008 following on from 13 years in the
electrical industry where his previous role was to manage and
develop over 40 electrical personnel. Through this previous role
Brenden has developed excellent communication skills with strong
expertise in data communications, fire detection and EWIS Systems,
and Tecom Forcefield Security Systems. Brenden holds an "A" Grade
Electrical License, is a qualified refrigeration mechanic and has
sound knowledge in Checkpoint EAS Systems, CCTV and MATV as well as
experience in estimations and tendering. Brenden's diverse range of
skills combined with his passion and drive is a great asset for
Modec to serve clients in all areas of Tasmania. |
